The minimum rental is 24 hours. Drivers must be 21 or over with a licence valid for at least six more months. Rates include VAT and an average allowance of 250 km per day across the rental period. Comprehensive insurance is provided in line with UAE law, with the excess set by the insurance contract. You can rent against a refundable deposit, which stands in place of separate insurance, or with no deposit at all against a document signed at handover. Cancellation is free, with no deadline.
Sharjah has no road toll of its own; a Dubai Salik gate applies only when you cross into Dubai, and is billed to you at cost. Sharjah sits right beside Dubai, so the drive is around thirty to forty minutes depending on traffic, with no border formality of any kind between emirates.
