Rent a Ford Raptor F-150 in Dubai: Road Trips to Hatta and Jebel Jais

You can rent a Ford Raptor F-150 in Dubai from Hermas for AED 1,449 a day, with VAT, comprehensive insurance and no security deposit. One thing first: the rental agreement does not cover dune bashing or any driving off the asphalt. Here the Raptor is a road-trip truck — for Hatta, Jebel Jais, Al Qudra Road and the long run to Abu Dhabi.

Can you take a rented Ford Raptor into the desert?

No. The Hermas rental agreement does not cover dune bashing, sand driving or any route off the asphalt, and that rule applies to the Raptor exactly as it does to every other car in the fleet. The truck looks made for the dunes, which is why we say this first.

If the desert is part of your trip, book a guided desert safari with a licensed operator. They use their own prepared vehicles and experienced drivers who cross the dunes every day, with recovery equipment on hand. You get the dunes with people who know them, and you keep the Raptor on the road.

Paved mountain roads are a different matter. The roads to Hatta and up Jebel Jais are tarmac all the way, and both are fine in a rental.

What is the Ford Raptor good for on paved roads?

Presence and comfort over distance. You sit high above the traffic, the wide body and long-travel suspension take the sting out of rough patches, and the truck draws looks wherever you stop. For a long day behind the wheel, that high driving position is the part customers mention most.

These are the paved road trips where it makes the most sense:

  • Hatta — a highway drive east towards the Hajar mountains, then winding mountain roads to the Hatta dam area. Park near the dam and walk the last stretch to the water.
  • Jebel Jais — the paved mountain road in Ras Al Khaimah climbs in long, smooth bends towards the viewpoints near the top. Leave early to beat the heat and the weekend traffic.
  • Al Qudra Road — a long, quiet road south of the city, known for its cycle track. Load the bikes in the bed and ride at sunrise.
  • Abu Dhabi — the long coastal highway run, easy at a steady pace on cruise control. Speed cameras are everywhere, so keep to the limit.

The open bed is the practical reason to pick a pickup. Bikes, kayaks, camping chairs, cool boxes and a group’s luggage all fit, and wet gear from the beach stays out of the cabin.

Secure every load properly. Use straps rated for the weight, tie items to the anchor points in the bed and check them again after the first few kilometres. Nothing should stick out past the sides or cover the lights and the number plate.

How much does it cost to rent a Ford Raptor in Dubai?

A Ford Raptor F-150 costs AED 1,449 a day at Hermas, with VAT and comprehensive insurance included and no security deposit. Longer rentals cost less per day, and we can quote a monthly rate on request. Here is how it compares with the two SUVs customers weigh it against most often.

  • Ford Raptor F-150 — AED 1,449 a day. The most presence of the three, and the only one with an open bed for bikes, kayaks and gear.
  • Land Rover Defender — AED 849 a day. Less than half the price, shorter, and far easier to park in the city.
  • Nissan Patrol Safari — AED 619 a day. The classic local choice, a big and comfortable SUV that looks at home anywhere in the UAE.

Choose the Raptor when the drive is the point and you have gear to carry. Choose the Defender if you want a capable-looking SUV for less than half the price that fits city car parks with ease. Choose the Patrol Safari for the classic UAE road trip and a roomy cabin for the family.

What is included when you rent a Raptor from Hermas?

The daily price covers more than the truck itself. In short:

  • VAT and comprehensive insurance are included in the daily price.
  • No security deposit, for any duration, and nothing is blocked on your card.
  • Free delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai, the airport included.
  • A mileage allowance that averages 250 km a day across the rental period.
  • Salik tolls and any traffic fines are billed at cost after the rental.
  • Tourists need a passport and a valid driving licence, plus an International Driving Permit if the licence was not issued in the UAE, GCC, US, Canada or EU.
  • UAE residents need an Emirates ID and a UAE driving licence. The minimum age is 21.

A day trip to Jebel Jais and back can use more than one day’s share of the mileage, but the allowance averages across the whole rental, so quieter city days balance it out.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Ford Raptor hard to park in Dubai?

It takes some planning. The Raptor is long, wide and tall, so tight mall car parks, older buildings and narrow hotel ramps can be a squeeze, and some entrances have height limits. Hotel and mall valet parking solves most of it. If most of your trip is in the city, a Defender is the easier car to live with.

Can I drive a rented Raptor to Hatta and Jebel Jais?

Yes. Both are reached on paved roads, and paved mountain roads are fine under the rental agreement. What is not covered is driving off the asphalt, so stay on the tarmac at Hatta and on the Jebel Jais road. Set off early for cooler air and better light, especially between June and September, when afternoons go above 40 °C.

How much fuel does the Raptor use?

More than a smaller SUV. It is a big, heavy truck with a large petrol engine, so plan on more frequent stops on a long road trip. Petrol stations are easy to find along every highway out of Dubai, and it is worth filling up before the climb to Jebel Jais or the drive into the Hatta mountains.

Do I need a deposit to rent the Raptor?

No. There is no security deposit on the Raptor or any other Hermas car, for any rental length, and nothing is blocked on your card. You pay the daily price, which already includes VAT and comprehensive insurance. Salik tolls and any fines are billed at cost after the rental, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
