Lamborghini Urus vs Aston Martin DBX: The Super-SUV Question

Short answer: the Lamborghini Urus (from AED 1,519 a day) is the louder, more recognised super-SUV and the better value. The Aston Martin DBX (AED 3,500 a day) is the rarer, quieter, more British one – and one of very few available anywhere in the UAE. Both rent with no deposit.

These two answer the same brief – a supercar you can put four people and luggage into – in opposite ways. Here is how they actually differ on a Dubai week.

Presence

The Urus is instantly identified by everyone, including valets, teenagers and other drivers. That is the point of it: the angles are aggressive, the exhaust is theatrical, and it reads as a Lamborghini from a hundred metres. The DBX does the opposite. It is elegant rather than aggressive, and most people will not name it at a glance – which is exactly why some guests choose it. In a city where a Urus passes every few minutes, the rarer car can be the stronger statement.

The drive

The Urus feels alert and eager; it wants to be driven briskly and sounds pleased when you do. The DBX rides better at cruising speed and its cabin is quieter, so it is the more comfortable choice for a Dubai to Abu Dhabi run or a full day of moving between meetings. Both handle Dubai’s speed bumps and multi-storey ramps without complaint.

Inside

The Urus interior is dramatic – angular vents, jet-fighter switchgear, hexagons everywhere. The DBX is hand-finished leather and alcantara with a calm layout. If you plan to spend six hours a day in the car, the DBX wears better. If you plan to photograph the interior, the Urus wins.

Price and what it buys

At AED 1,519 a day the Urus is the more affordable of the two by a wide margin, and we also keep the Urus Performante and Urus S. The DBX at AED 3,500 costs more because there are simply very few of them in the UAE rental market – you are paying for rarity as much as for the car.

Both include comprehensive insurance, VAT and free delivery across Dubai, and neither requires a security deposit. Compare the rest of the Lamborghini collection if a Huracan or Aventador suits the trip better.

Which should you book?

Book the Urus if this is a first supercar experience, if the photos matter, or if you want the most car for the money. Book the DBX if you have driven the obvious choices already, if the week involves long comfortable drives, or if you would rather be the only one at the venue in your car.
